  • Basic Things Women Should Know

Despite centuries of evolution and feminist movements, society's basic expectations of the ideal woman remain the same.  We're supposed to be kick-ass warriors, handle our boardrooms and mascara with the same fierce concentration, and make it home to cook a delicious dinner and keep the home spotless.  According to a column I read, the following is a list of traits that a woman should have:

    Women should:

    • Have excellent penmanship. This comes in handy for birthday and Christmas cards, thank you notes, invitations, etc.
    • Possess enough knowledge of fashion to know how to dress for an occasion.
    • Be good at decorating (but nothing too frilly).
    • Balance a checkbook/manage money. (Yes, men expect women to do this
and vice versa. Could be why many people have financial issues and a
good deal of relationships end because of money issues.)
    • Know how to cook and clean.
    • Be a good mother.
    • Be a good caretaker when a loved one is sick.
    • Pack a lunch every day for him to take to work.
    • Be able to go to a sports bar and order a beer, but know when he
wants to just go with his friends.
    • Read a map/be good at getting to places.

Is this list complete?  What would you add to / delete from this list?
